Ming Quay

Ming Quay

Ming graduated from Abbey Road Institute Melbourne in 2018 and is currently working as a full-time composer and part-time educator as a Teaching Artist with The Song Room based in Melbourne.

Since graduating Ming has developed a deeper understanding and know-how in music production, especially the sound engineering aspects as he produces his own music from home. In addition he completed an internship at Studios 301 which gave him insights into the practical aspects of recording, music production, and industry practices (including the elusive and sacred music Mastering!)

As a composer, he has been writing and producing Neo Classical/Classical Crossover/Cinematic music and releasing them under his artist name Ming Quay. Ming’s most valuable win since graduating is to be able to meet like-minded artists who are willing to trust and take the risk with an emerging artist like himself on collaborative projects. For example his piano-cello work “Pilgrimage of the Soul” with The Wong Janice, an Abbey Road Institute Amsterdam graduate, reached a much wider audience than they could have imagined over a short period of time.

Most recently, Ming joined Little Symphony Records, a label for emerging artists in the neo-classical realm.
