ARI Melbourne are so excited to welcome our next guest masterclass presenter Jane Elizabeth Hanley. Joining the recent slew of talented producers who have delivered thrilling masterclasses for the students at Abbey Road Institute, Jane will present for Abbey Road student on Friday the 7th of April, 2017.
Working under the moniker Kids at Midnight, Jane creates music which has been described as haunting chameleon vocals layered with vintage synths to create lovestruck electro-ballad romantic-jams. Her productions draw from an eclectic mix of influences; from storytelling songwriters like Bruce Springsteen, Kate Bush, Stevie Nicks to more electronic and modern artists like Daft Punk, Royksopp, Robyn, Kleerup.
Receiving huge exposure having music featured on MTV’s Jersey Shore, and Showtimes ‘The Real L Word’, Jane gained a worldwide audience. Recently her independently released EP “Survival” gained the support of Triple J and Triple J Unearthed and all her releases have collectively reached over 1 million plays on Spotify.
When Jane isn’t in the studio or DJing around Melbourne making dancefloors heave, she lends her talents as a Ableton mentor. In the past she ran a six week creative learning program for female, trans and gender non-conforming musicians, focusing on Electronic Music Production using Ableton Live called “Operator” at the Melbourne Art Centre. Now that she’s taken a back seat from running the classes to guest mentoring, Jane now has more time to finish up her debut album.
