Part Time Study

Studying part time at Abbey Road Institute gives you the flexibility to combine work and study.  You’ll join the Advanced Diploma for a two year period and attend the school for 2 days each week.  You’ll see the immediate impact of the course, being able to apply the practical, theoretical and creative learning you’ll undertake with us directly back into your own production works outside of class.  Throughout this time you’ll be supported and inspired by the Abbey Road Institute team.

You benefit from an extended period of time by which you can access our world class studios in Melbourne, have double the length of exposure to our industry leading lecturers, have access to your own workstation and recording facilities when you want, for whatever project you want.

Evening Course options

  • Part Time Study will run 2 nights a week over 24 months
  • Part Time evening course will begin on October 16th

About The Advanced Diploma Of Sound Production

Our Advanced Diploma is taught within small class sizes and offers a curriculum which has been developed in collaboration with Abbey Road Studios engineers and our wider industry network.

Many modern professional studio working environments have limited access to traditional console-based recording studios, so we have focused the program on current music production practices where the computer has taken centre stage over the console. The course utilises a Progressive Continuous Learning methodology where content is delivered in a practical hands-on learning environment. Classes are tied together through a series of progressive exercises designed to introduce new concepts while giving you the opportunity to use professional technology found in real-world working environments to reinforce your understanding of program content.

You’ll have access to a high-spec DAW workstation for the majority of classes and also a premium analog and digital recording studio with dedicated performance space.

Our Advanced Diploma of Sound Production gives you 50% practical time throughout the course, with access to our world class gear without strict time limits.
